OverviewTreating local open wounds is extremely important. It is essential to avoid the spread of infection. The Smith & Nephew’s Bactigras helps in protecting the wound and prevents infection. The packaging comes in a cardboard box containing ten pieces of 10 x 10 cm gauze. The cloth gauze has a mesh-type texture for breathable skin. The bandage allows free passage of viscous exudate. Bactigras gauze is effective against a wide range of bacteria. The gauze has low tissue toxicity, which assures immunity against tissue damage unless the exposure is high. It is apt to treat any wounds that have contact with blood and an inner layer of the skin. The light bandage is not adhesive and remains unaffected by serum and blood. It can be cut into smaller pieces if necessary. The product is packed post sterilization. Avoid any contact with moisture. It is safe to be used on children and adults. The dressing is advised to be changed regularly to promote the process of healing. Bactigras is a non-adherent dressing.  It is used to treat wounds with local infection. It helps to prevent the spread of infection.  It has antiseptic properties. It is apt to treat minor burns, scars, lacerations, abrasions, and skin graft sites. It is to be used on cotton padding. The gauze is light on the skin. It does not require sterilization. Bactigras is light on the skin. How to use: Please wash your hands by rinsing them with warm water and mild soap. Ensure to pat dry completely before touching the Bactigras gauze or wound. Wear a medical glove to avoid the contraction of infection. Clean the injured area and the skin around it thoroughly. Use cotton dipped in spirit or betadine solution. Place a cotton pad wrapped on the wound.  Place the Bactigras gauze on the cotton and tape using the adhesive or ribbon tape to secure it. To remove, apply spirit on the adhesive to loosen the stickiness and gently pull. Dispose of the cotton pad and gauze in a surgical bin. Caution & Warnings: It should not be used on more than 10% of the body. Avoid it in case the patient is allergic to chlorhexidine. Avoid eyes, middle ear, meninges, and brain
