About the Author	S C Rastogi, former Professor of Biological Sciences at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, has a vast and variegated experience of teaching and research spanning more than 40 years. After his training in molecular biology at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, he worked constantly to modernize biology courses at BITS. He has taught and supervised doctoral research in computer applications in molecular biology, enzyme biotechnology and physiology and has successfully completed several research projects funded by various agencies. As a biologist of repute and credited with many educational innovations, he has been a constant participant in the course development activities at BITS and other universities. He has edited many proceedings of scientific symposia and authored several research papers in national and international journals. As a prolific writer, he has authored several books in the field of bioinformatics, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, physiology and biotechnology.
