It's easy to get started with START. Use the barrel swivel to securely attach the rod to your Start fish finder and automatically place it in the water to start. Pair your fish finder with your phone via its settings (as you would with any Wi-Fi connection). Once connected, open the free Deeper app and start fishing!

Important: Make sure you turn off all Wi-Fi assistance on your smartphone (for example, "Wi-Fi Assist" on iOS) or turn off Cellular Data completely. This will ensure an uninterrupted connection.

Casting

Now the fun part, you're ready to go out! Your START device has an impressive connection range of 165 ft. To ensure a stable connection, do not place your phone on the ground or in your pocket. For a truly seamless experience, we recommend using the Deeper smartphone holder for your rod.

Scanning

Once your fish finder hits the water, you will begin to see fish and depth data on your smartphone screen. As you slowly rotate the fish finder you will see changes in depth and location of the fish. If you don't see any fish icons, it's time to move to a new spot and try again!

Important: Even if your sonar is steady, the screen will scroll from right to left. This is because your fish finder is constantly sending out scanning beams.
