OverviewQahwa opens with a spicy mélange of warm cardamom and dry cinnamon with roasted coffee being the star of the show. The start is quite different from the original with tamed spices, showcasing a cozy, yet silky smooth aroma instead of the forcefully dry ambers in the original with densely sweet dates. The heart is lactonic with a rich and creamy praline accord that offers a semi-sweet gourmand scent that doesn’t feel sticky or syrupy. The spices and coffee linger into this stage, and along with praline, the coffee feels as if it is more of a latte in this stage. The vanilla is the star of the base, creating an almost milky edibleness to the scent. It’s not a lighter cake-like or airy vanilla. It feels dense, as if it was a heavy frosting whipped into the coffee with nuances of roasted tonka in the background. There is something floral and rich in the perfume, but I can’t exactly pinpoint what it is supposed to be, but my best guess is it’s some manner of a tuberose accord.
