Vitamins D3 and K2, often termed the "sunshine vitamins", have a rich history and originate from our interaction with natural sunlight and certain foods. Vitamin D3 is primarily produced in our skin in response to sunlight but can also be found in certain foods like fatty fish and fortified dairy products. Vitamin K2, also known as menaquinone, was identified later and is naturally present in fermented foods and certain types of cheese and meat.
