Aganonerion polymorphum is used as herbal and as a food. In Vietnamese, the plant is called lá giang, literally "river leaf." Thai, Vietnamese use leaves to cook seafood, beef, pork, chicken, or fish soup. River leaf (lá giang) can be used to cook as following dishes.
