Richter series chisels are hardened with a special system called Cryo technology.
Immediately after the initial hardening, cryogenic treatment cools the steel to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen, down to -190°C. This completes the austenite transformation, which increases both the hardness and toughness of the steel.

Named after Narex founder Vaclav Richter, these chisels represent the highest quality of manufacturing processes that combine unique materials, heat treatment and machining to produce the ultimate tool for woodworkers. Each chisel is marked with the RICHTER EXTRA brand.
