INDOOR SOWING Sow 2 3 seeds per 4 cm module. Once germination starts move to an area with good daylight exposure, a windowsill or greenhouse is ideal. 2 3 weeks after germination (depending on speed of growth) plant out. Harden off over 7 10 days before planting out especially early sowings. Plant out at the distance suggested on the seed packet. Firm the soil around each plants and water well.DIRECT SOWING Sow 1 seed every 1 2 cm at the depth and row distance suggested on the seed packet. Cover the seeds with soil and water well. Thin out in stages so that eventually the plants are 6 cm apart. The thinning's should be big enough to eat.Spinach for summer harvests should be sown little and often. A fortnightly sowing will keep the kitchen in good supply of fresh leaves over the summer months.
