The Thin-Stemmed Yucca is a fairly rare species native only to Puebla and Oaxaca, Mexico, where it grows on rocky slopes between 1,300 and 2,200 meters above sea level. Slender, mostly naked, narrow trunks reach a height of up to 6 m and rarely branch only in older specimens. Thick, very stiff, green leaves form a small, erect crown. It is very drought-resistant and can withstand severe frosts down to about -12 degrees C.
