About the Author | A native New Yorker, Stephen Bruno grew up scribbling words in marble notebooks and playing sports on the streets of the Bronx. Many years later, a literature professor suggested he apply to writing programs around the country, but Stephen applied to only one and was accepted by the Top 5 MFA program a short walk from his Upper East Side apartment. On graduation day, Stephen was approached by New York Times bestselling author Kathryn Harrison, who offered to mentor him as he continued crafting his manuscript. Eight years and many drafts later, he is the author of the upcoming memoir Building Material. Stephen resides in New York City where he can still be found engaged in poetry and movement, now in the form of salsa dancing, which he loves. |
