| Book Description | The first part of the novel "French Perfumes... My Dreams are French," by the writer Obaid Mohammed Al-Jreeshi, published in its first edition by Dar Al-Udaba' for Publishing and Distribution in Sharjah, revolves around a journey carrying many situations, knowledge, and experiences gained by the writer as a result of traveling in the Western world, particularly the capital of light, Paris, France. The work embodies within its folds situations the writer faced during his study abroad, filled with contrasting feelings of sadness, sorrow, joy, and happiness, among other fluctuations narrated by the protagonist. The author says about the work: "Sailing through this first part of the novel will be a witness to the journey of acquiring knowledge, culture, and achieving aspirations, accompanied by the events of exile and its growing impact on a student of knowledge. The book is a mixture of emotions in a pervasive, present alienation affecting the soul and body." |
