The Starrett 93 T-Handle Tap Wrench is for holding taps, drills, reamers and other small tools to be turned by hand. It is properly heat treated to withstand ordinary shop use. The jaw conforms to the tool being held, making it rigid and less apt to loosen. The wrench has a sliding handle that is frictionally held. This feature permits the handle to be removed entirely or positioned so that leverage can be applied when working in close quarters. 250mm (10") Length, 5.5-11mm (7/32-7/16") Tap Size. The handle of a Starrett tap wrench is manufactured with handwork that transcends time. It is one of the most fulfilling tools you will ever place in your hands. A tap wrench used in combination with a drill tap is the traditional method to tapping (threading) a hole. This traditional method continues to be a preferred tapping method for when precision tapping is required on prototypes, one-off, post processing, and when minimal material exists around the hole. holes in a hole patterns is too significant to include in a machine program. In essence the tool has a basic "T-Wrench" configuration, which uses handles that extend from the center axis of the tap so that additional torque in the tap can be created. Since a tap requires a specific amount of material at a specific dimension in order to create an effective thread, this manual method can provide excellent feedback to the operator as they progress the tap into the thru-hole.
